Beginning Jan. 1, a Coastal Recreational Fishing License (CRFL) will be required for recreational fishing in North Carolina’s coastal waters.
 
 
 
Repairs made last week to a 5-foot escarpment, or drop-off, on Wrightsville Beach were washed away after a storm packing heavy winds and rain hit the area on Christmas Day.
For outstanding community leadership, Cindy Jupp, North Carolina Holiday Flotilla co-chair, has been awarded Lumina News’ Person of the Year for 2006.
