 Bank of the Ozarks moves into Woodlands Bank

Bank of the Ozarks, Inc. announced this month that its wholly-owned bank subsidiary, Bank of the Ozarks, has entered into a purchase and assumption agreement including loss share arrangements with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to purchase substantially all of the assets and to assume substantially all of the deposits and other liabilities of Woodlands Bank of Bluffton, S.C.

 


North Carolina’s 25 percent film incentive enhanced by new legislation

Gov. Beverly Perdue signed a new 25 percent film incentive into law on July 22. The new legislation means more expenditures are broadened to include qualifying expenses like labor fringe benefits, per diems, stipends and living expenses. Most importantly, it raises the overall project eligibility cap from $7.5 million to $20 million per project.

 


NICHE Magazine nominates business for Top Retailer Award

Ziabird, a local Lumina Station boutique, was recently nominated for NICHE Magazine’s Top Retailer Award. NICHE Magazine is the exclusive trade publication for independent specialty retailers. The NICHE Top Retailer Awards program annually recognizes 24 retailers and gallery owners as Top Retailers and names one Retailer of the Year.

Award winners will be announced at a ceremony Monday, Aug. 23.
