Did You Know?

You can exercise just about anywhere!

• You can get creative at work by taking the stairs, park further away from the office. Find a co-worker and take a 20 minute walk during your lunch break. Buy an exercise ball chair; it will help with your posture, strengthen your abs and back while sitting at your computer. Doing little bouts during the day can help you burn more calories and alleviate some of the stress of the day too.

• At home you can walk the dog, ride a bike, garden, mow, rake the leaves and play with the kids. While watching TV you can get on the floor and do leg lifts. By getting a pedometer you can keep track the amount of steps you take. Try for 6,000 to 10,000 steps a day. Always start out slow and progress.

• No matter how much time you have and what your goals are you can fit an effective exercise program into a busy schedule and still get the results that you want! Motivation has to start with you. Consistency over a period of time is what counts and don’t be hard on yourself— just keep moving forward.
