A local woman isn’t the only one reaping the benefits of a lucky raffle ticket. Rachel Stantliff was the winner in a raffle held by Crescent State Bank (CSB) last week. Stantliff will take home a $500 certificate of deposit, while CSB will match that amount as a donation to the charity of her choice, the local nonprofit organization, Good Friends.

Deedy Vincent, chairperson of Good Friends said, "This is a group that really believes in community, and we believe in community-in-action. We believe in taking care of our own, first. I think that’s why people respond."

Good Friends is a service that meets the immediate needs of families and individuals in New Hanover County. The check will be presented to the organization at its 13th annual luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Burney Center. The event will kick off with a social at 11:30 a.m.
