Lumina News is seeking enthusiastic interns for the upcoming spring semester to gain experience in writing lifestyles and community news stories and the day-to-day operations of the weekly Wrightsville Beach newspaper.
Interns work approximately 8-9 hours per week in 3-4 hour concentrations. Preferably, those shifts would fall on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and/or Monday mornings.
These hours are based on the availability of the news director to supervise the intern and may be adjusted to adapt to part time work schedules or class loads after a training period is successfully completed.
The intern prospects are expected to familiarize themselves with the publication, which is available online, prior to an interview.
Duties include but are not limited to coverage of outdoor activities and events; i.e., man-on-the-street interviews (For the Record), concerts and surf films in Wrightsville Beach Park, recreational activities and events and sports.
If interested, please send a resume and writing samples to News Director Kelly Corbett at
