The 16th year No Boundaries International Art Colony hosts a special art exhibition featuring new works from 39 of the 48 local artists who have participated in the colony during the past 15 years. Featured artists include Hiroshi Sueyoshi, Mitzi Jonkheer, Karen Crouch, Harry Taylor, Pam Toll and Evalyn Boyd Hines. 




Fear no art on Front 

ArtWalk on Front Street

Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Front Street


The 11th annual ArtWalk will feature local and regional artists representing the art forms of painting, photography, jewelry and sculpture. Six blocks of Front Street will be blocked off for the event with live music performances along the street. 




Surf and Stomp

The Carvers play the Oceanic

Saturday, Sept. 7, 7-10 p.m.

Oceanic Restaurant on Crystal Pier


The Carvers Surf and Stomp Combo will bring its unique blend of 1950s and 1960s garage, surf and stomp music to the newly renovated Crystal Pier at the Oceanic restaurant on the south end of Wrightsville Beach. Bring your dancing shoes. 





Intracoastal Eco Paddle

New Hanover County Parks and Gardens,
and Hook, Line and Paddle

Wednesday, Sept. 11, 10:30 a.m., $50

Trails End boat ramp 


Focus on the flora, fauna and ecosystem of the salt marsh habitats along the Intracoastal Waterway in a guided paddle tour. Preregistration is required and includes kayak, flotation device, paddle and snack. If providing a kayak the registration fee is only $25.
