The Wrightsville Beach Chamber of Commerce has seven
suggestions for the Heide Trask Drawbridge work, including advocating for the
inclusion of a high rise bridge replacement in the long range plan.
The organization is gearing up for the Thursday, Aug. 22,
joint public meeting between the Town of Wrightsville Beach and the North
Carolina Department of Transportation, scheduled for 6 p.m., at Town Hall
In a letter signed by Susan
Bulluck, WBCC Chair and board members, the chamber again criticizes the bridge
work taking longer than the projections. The list of suggestions will be
presented during the Aug. 22 meeting.
The second request asks for advanced notice of the night
closures and an hourly ferry to transport tourists and residents across the Intracoastal Waterway.
Updates will be posted
during the meeting.
