On Wednesday, Feb. 20, the town of Wrightsville Beach announced it received a $6,000 quality of life grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation for the purchase of beach-accesible wheelchairs for the parks and recreation department. These wheelchairs will be available to anyone in need of the service to enjoy the beach strand.

The grant was one of 76 grants totaling almost $427,000 awarded by the foundation this year to nonprofit organizations nationwide to support critical life-enhancing and life life-changing initiatives for those living with paralysis or other mobility impairments.
