Sandee Spradley, left, chaired the 2012 Azalea Festival Pre-Festival Party with help from her co-chair Brenda Dalrymple. This year's party is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 18, at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside.

Though the North Carolina Azalea Festival is months away, the Pre-Festival Party will be held on Friday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m., at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside on North Water Street. For $50, individual tickets to the pre-party include music from the Sleeping Booty Band, which is returning once again to perform 70s, 80s and 90s funk, dance and hip-hop. Hors d’oeuves and beverages will also be available.

Donna Cameron, the president of the N.C. Azalea Festival, said the Hilton provides a lovely atmosphere as well as a special hotel party package for $200 that includes two tickets and a hotel room.

“The tickets include the food, beverages and the band,” she said. “The hotel package allows people to explore and enjoy downtown … then have a fun adult evening to be with folks in the community.”

Proceeds from this event will benefit the 2013 N.C. Azalea Festival. To purchase tickets to this event or for festival updates visit www.ncazaleafestival.org
