Leadership Wilmington is now accepting project submissions from nonprofits and schools until Friday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. for Work on Wilmington Day in April 2013 .

Work On Wilmington is an annual community service event organized by Leadership Wilmington, a civic leadership development program of the Greater Wilmington Chamber Foundation. Director of Leadership Wilmington Haskell Rhett said that Work on Wilmington is the largest annual volunteer project in Wilmington, and the submission process starts early because of the number of project ideas received.

“With about 2,000 volunteers, we completed 31 projects in one day last year,” he said. “So far we have about 15 applications, but we won’t know how many we have until the last day.”

Along with contact information, applicants must provide a brief description of the project, materials needed, number of volunteers expected from the organization and the project beneficiary.
