Kite enthusiasts from near and far will fly their colorful kites at the north end of Wrightsville Beach from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 3 and 4. Last year, more than 75 flyers spread out along the beach in front of Shell Island Resort.
Activities planned for the weekend include a free kite-making class for kids, stunt kite lessons, stunt kite demonstrations, kite shows and a kite auction.
The event is free and open to the public. Parking will be free in the lot at Public Beach Access No. 2. Parking is not allowed along either side of North Lumina Avenue. For more information, visit www.capefearkitefestival.com —
