Ann Parks Nesbitt was born Sept. 21, 1939, to John Littleton Parks and Lalla Blanks Parks of the Bearpond Community of Vance County, N.C. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pauline Francis “Polly” Parks; her nephew, John Littleton Parks, III; and her husband John. T. Nesbitt.
She was educated in and graduated from Zeb Vance School, where she was valedictorian for the Class of 1957. She attended Louisburg College where she earned a degree in accounting. She started her career and rose to the title of assistant vice president with Peoples’ Bank and Trust of Henderson, N.C., and served as accountant for Gillburg United Methodist Church.
In 1975 she married John T. Nesbitt, and moved to Wrightsville Beach, N.C., where after 30 years of service she retired as comptroller for Atlantic Marine.
She was a faithful servant at Wrightsville United Methodist Church and served on the board of directors for The Rescue Mission of Cape Fear.
Nesbitt is survived by a brother, John L. Parks Jr. of Bearpond; two step-sons, W. Neal Nesbitt and wife Dawn of Wilmington, and J. Mark Nesbitt and wife Kelly of Henderson, N.C.; by her grandchildren, Trevor John and Dustin Clark Nesbitt and Courtney Ozaki; and by her sister in law, Sarah N. Hedgpeth; nieces, Sally Woods and husband Tim; Nancy Deener and nephew, Richard Hedgpeth, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services were held Oct. 30 at Wrightsville United Methodist Church by The Rev. Bob Bauman. Interment followed in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
