The Wrightsville Beach Chamber of Commerce has two open
board slots to fill as the organization works to reestablish itself.
“We would like to see them come out of the retail market,”
board member Sue Bulluck said.
The current board is made up of Bulluck, Lisa Weeks, Preston
Davenport, Faylene Voet and Maureen Donovan. Carolyn Thomason will be installed
at the next board meeting.
The next chamber event will be the November luncheon.
Bulluck said she is also in the process of getting a survey
to send out to board members via email for ideas on what steps to take next.
“We’re gathering viewpoints,” she said. “We’re such a small,
little land mass.”
The chamber focuses on business promotion and education and,
in addition to Wrightsville Beach, reaches businesses along Military Cutoff
Road, Eastwood Road and Wrightsville Avenue.
“I think that it’s a beginning,” Bulluck said. “Hopefully we
will grow back into a strong and stable voice for businesses.”
Board members are also in the process of moving
back into the Wrightsville Beach Visitors Center.
“We’re definitely moving back,” Bulluck said. “We’re not
going to outsource anymore.”
