The Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen unanimously approved the text amendment allowing Wrightsville Beach School, which is overcrowded by roughly 100 students, to use two classrooms at Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.

New Hanover County Schools requested to use the church classrooms for two years but town attorney John Wessell and town staff recommended changing that to only last through this school year so NHCS would have more incentive to plan a more permanent solution to the overcrowding problem. Language in the text amendment was also changed to specify that it applied to Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church only.
